On Wednesday in Belgrade NATO Advanced Research Workshop titled „Managing Terrorism Threats to Critical Infrastructures – Challenges for South Eastern Europe“ was open. The organizers of this event were The Institute for Corporate Security Studies from Slovenia and University EDUCONS from Serbia. Workshop was officially open by esteemed partners and organizers from Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, NATO – SPS, Institute for Corporative Security Studies, Educons University and other honored guests and lecturers.

On the first day, issues were raised on the topic of Cooperation and Coordination Challenges in the Protection of Critical Infrastructure where three speakers presented their papers on the first panel and at the end fruitful discussion was done. Topic of the second panel was Public-Private Relationship Countering Threats to Critical Infrastructure. All presenters and participants in the discussion highlighted that despite establishing of legal framework in region still do not have so many positive examples in the area of protection of CI. The recommendations are that there is a need for establishing guidelines in which responsibilities and obligations will be previously defined. At third panel of the first day of the Workshop was on the topic of Risk Assessment and Management of Critical Infrastructure Protection.

Second day started with forth panel on the topic of Terrorist Threats to Environmental Related to Critical Infrastructure Operation. Fifth panel was addressing National Approaches to Protection Critical Infrastructure. In the second part of the second day topic of the panels were Terrorist Threats to Environmental Related to Critical Infrastructure Operation and National Approaches to Protection Critical Infrastructure respectively. Last session of the second day was left for dealing with Cyber Threats to Critical Infrastructure. There were serious discussion on these topics and it will undoubtedly help science community in the future research. The results of these researches have to be considered from policy makers in the creation of the missed legal framework with those used in the EU program for the protection of the Critical Infrastructure.
