During the February meeting of the Slovenian Corporate Security Association, we were able to listen to a lecture entitled "Internet of Things (IoT) based on the architecture of web interfaces of a smart home or business".
The recent period has witnessed the rise of new technologies, which largely operate with the help or support of information and communication technologies. This, of course, brings new risks and challenges to the field of information security of our infrastructure and production processes. It is important that we recognize these challenges and risks appropriately and also be aware of them when planning the introduction of new technological solutions.
To this end, we held this meeting of the Slovenian Corporate Security Association slightly differently, in the form of a lecture and guided discussion entitled - Internet of Things (IoT), which is based on the architecture of the web interfaces of a smart home or business. Mr. Žiga Podgoršek, a certified ethical hacker, gave us a basic presentation of the problem and opened up some challenges and shared experiences through practical examples. Of course, he also gave us possible solutions or ways to defend ourselves against IoT attacks.
In the following we went through a guided discussion led by the president of the association, dr. Denis Čaleta, listened to the exchange of experience and good practices between members. We concluded the meeting with a pleasant chat and a banquet and an invitation to the International Conference Days of Corporate Security, which will take place on March 11 and 12 in Ljubljana.
