The Information Commissioner and SI-CERT hosted members of the Slovenian Corporate Security Association

16. January 2020

The first meeting of the members of the Slovenian Corporate Security Association in 2020 was traditionally hosted by two important public institutions, the Office of the Information Commissioner and SI-CERT (Slovenian Computer Emergency Response Team), who are also corporate members of our association.

In the introduction, Mojca Prelesnik, Head of the IP Office, addressed us on behalf of the hosts. She presented the work of the Office and informed us about the situation in the field of personal data protection, access to public information and main findings of the previous year.

The following was taken up by Mr. Gorazd Bozic, Head of SI-CERT and introduced us to the work of this institution over the past year. He highlighted the main threats in the field of cyber security, past statistics, information risks and cases of cyber-attacks. Finally, he emphasized good practices and guidelines for the future.

In the last part mag. Andrej Tomšič, Deputy IP, in a slightly longer presentation, presented the main findings of the inspections in the field of personal data protection and experience and the challenges after the introduction of GDPR.

In conclusion, the president of the association, Dr. Denis Caleta, thanked the hosts for a great organized meeting. The last part of the meeting, however, belonged to members who, in an interesting discussion and exchange of experience on good practices from our organizational backgrounds, highlighted the importance of such meetings.
