The award ceremony »Slovenian Grand Security Award"

Today was the opening of a major corporate security event that brought together prominent representatives of the economy, politics and, of course, the profession. The event was attended by more than 200 participants from both the Slovenian and international environments. "Corporate Security Days 2018" are organized by the Institute for Corporate Security Studies, ICS-Ljubljana and the Slovenian Association of Corporate Security.

The conference was opened by dr. Denis Čaleta, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Alojz Kovšca, President of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia, mag. Miloš Bizjak, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, mag. Sonja Šmuc, General Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Boštjan Šefic, State Secretary, Ministry of the Interior.

In their speeches, everyone stressed the complexity of the security environment that surrounds us and puts in place our complex requirements for the management of the risks to which we are exposed. Security has become a good asset, which is extremely exposed in the current situation. It was especially emphasized that corporate security is becoming an important process at the forefront of the new development of the Slovenian economy. This event is an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, good practices and, above all, the latest findings on how to effectively manage the risks to which our organizational environment is exposed. The Institute for Corporate Security Studies represents the space where organizations and companies of the economic and public environment are actively involved, thus strengthening the effectiveness of its operations in the field of risk management.

As part of the opening ceremony, the prestigious "Slovenian Grand Security Award" was awarded to the most exposed individuals and organizations in 2017.

This year's award for "Best Corporate Security Manager" Stanislav Veniger from the company Zavarovalnica Triglav d.d., awarded by dr. Denis Čaleta, President of the Slovenian Corporate Security Association. The award for the most secure company was won by CETIS d.d. Chairman of the Management Board Marko Mohar received the award from mag. Sonja Šmuc, Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. The city of Nova Gorica was awarded the "Most Secure City" Prize. Mayor g. Matej Arčon received the award from Mr. Alojza Kovšce, President of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia. Mr Boštjan Šefic awarded Mrs Jasna Gabrič, the Mayor of Trbovlje municipality in the category "the most secure municipality".

This time, the company Špica International d.o.o. received the award for "the most innovative security solution". The award was received by the company's director Mr. Tone Stanovnik, handed over to Mr. Andrej Slapar, President of the Management Board of Zavarovalnica Triglav. In the "Best Security Book" category, this year's award was granted to Mr. Boštjan Videmšek. Due to his absence, the editor-in-chief of the Foreign Policy Department, Mr. Veso Stojanov, given to him by mag. Miloš Bizjak, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense. The DELO official this year convinced an independent commission and received the award in the category "Most innovative media support". The prize was taken by Mr. Miha Jenko, one of the first feathers of the aforementioned officer, and was handed over by mag. Alexander Mervar, Director of ELES. In addition to awarding prizes in these categories, this year a special award for lifecycle work in the field of corporate security was awarded Dušan Dular from Krka d.d., and the prize was given by Mag. Mirana Vršac, co-founder of the Institute for Corporate Security Studies.

The opening lecture was performed by prof. dr. Ernest Petrič, Advisor to the President of the Republic and former President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia, and was intended to present "A Look at the Challenges of the Future International Security Environment".
