This year thematic focus has been reflected through the conference title »Societal transformations, climate change and digitalisation – a new paradigm of Security Research?«.

SRE take place 24-25. October 2023 in Brussels. Challenges stemming from megatrends are shifting the ground for security in the EU. This is true for each trend considered separately, but their mutual reinforcement and cascading effects accelerate the process and bring stronger impacts, making preparedness and response more complex.

In addition to the substantive work, all the most important European security projects were also presented at the event, including some of those where ICS Ljubljana actively participates. Denis Čaleta, Phd. as a representative of ICS Ljubljana, on the projects SUNRISE, ATLANTIS, PRECINCT and APPRAISE, shared his and the consortium's experiences with the participants of the SRE event.
