Round table in the framework of the international meeting of the Adria Security Summit in Ljubljana on the topic: Challenges and possibilities for stronger cooperation in the area of corporate security in the region

14. September 2018

On Wednesday, September 12, at the Gospodarsko razstavišče, the international fair Adria Security Summit opened for the fourth year in a row in various countries of the western Balkans. This time it was Slovenia. This international event, offering a meeting point for providers and users of security services, attracted a good number of exhibitors and visitors.

As part of this event, the Slovenian Corporate Security Association organized a round table on "Challenges and opportunities for stronger cooperation in the field of corporate security in the region". He was led by dr. Denis Čaleta, President of the Slovenian Association for Corporate Security, and Mr. Ljubomir Radovic, vice president of the Serbian Association of Corporate Security Managers, dr. Atanas Kozarev, president of the Association for Corporate Security of Macedonia, Haris Delić - representative of the Association of Managers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mr. Aleksandar Djurickovic from Chamber of Electrical Engineers of Montenegro.

Within the discussion, we could hear different views on corporate security in individual countries. We have heard suggestions on how to intensify cooperation between regional associations and how to ensure that all associations in the region will be sufficiently active in the international SE Corporate Security Association. The discussion touched on the process of protecting European critical infrastructure, which can be one of the incentives for this cooperation in the field of corporate security to become even stronger. Let us underline the tendency of all the participants to move corporate security to the first or second level of organization management, that is, close to decision makers or strategic management of companies. The last part of the round table highlighted the risks that corporate security companies face in the future.

In conclusion, it was particularly emphasized that wider regional cooperation should be ensured, where the SE Corporate Security Association will become a strong partner in the field of education, standardization and promotion of corporate security. For the end, dr. Denis Caleta thanked the participants of the round table with a handy gift, the book "Violent Extremism and Radicalization, Processes as Driving Factors to Terrorism Threats", which was published this year within the ICS Institute.
