Online SUNRISE workshop on cross-border cooperation

07. June 2024

Yesterday, 6 June 2024, between 09:00 and 13:00, an international workshop was held at EU level, focusing on cross-border cooperation between Critical Infrastructure Managers across Europe. The online workshop was organised by the Institute for Corporate Security Studies, and was held via the LiveWebinar online platform.

The workshop was opened with a welcoming speech by Milan Tarman, representative of ICS Ljubljana, and then handed over to the Sunrise project coordinator Aljosa Pašič, who introduced the Sunrise project.

This was followed by a lecture by Max Kesselbacher, who presented the CI Awareness and Resilience Strategy.

After the introductory presentations, discussions followed aimed at supporting cooperation at cross-border level to exchange best practices, discuss common issues and find ways for CI managers to better support each other in crisis situations.

The discussions took the form of four round tables. The first round table was chaired by Gilda de Marco, the second by José Miguel Blanco, the third by Marko Potokar and the fourth and final round table was chaired by Milan Tarman.

After a short pause, the reports and key findings were presented by the moderators of the INS (Gilda), UPM (Jose Miguel) and ICS (Marko, Milan) roundtables.

The outcome of these discussions will help to understand the current operational environment for cross-border cooperation, what is still missing and how these gaps can be addressed.

The workshop was then closed by the project coordinator, Aljoša Pašič, with his concluding thoughts.
