The Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (also a corporate member of the Slovenian Corporate Security Association) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia invite you to a consultation on the European Day of Personal Data Protection with a working title "What are the tasks and challenges awaited by Authorized Data Protection Persons and what their designation implies for the organization also what for the protection of personal data in general?" The event will take place on Friday, 26 January 2018, at 10 am, in Hall A of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, at Dimičeva ulica 13, Ljubljana.

Every year, the Information Commissioner organizes an event with the European Day of the Protection of Personal Data, this time together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. This year's event will focus on one of the important innovations brought about by the European Personal Data Reform for Data Protection Officer (DPO). The new Regulation will apply on 25 May 2018, when these persons will have to be appointed in all public bodies and bodies as well as in organizations whose basic activity is the systematic and extensive monitoring of individuals or the extensive processing of specific types of personal data.

At the consultation, we would like to highlight the good practices and experience of organizations that are not foreign to the role of the Authorized Person for the Protection of Personal Data, and to encourage the exchange of views, views and experiences on the novelties, advantages and challenges awaiting the new European General Regulation. Together with the representatives of managers and various professionals for the protection of personal data, we therefore want to answer the key question, which tasks and challenges are waiting for the Data Protection Authorities and what their appointment means for the organization, as well as what to protect personal data in general.

Traditionally, they will also receive the award from the Privacy and Recognition Award to the recipients of certificates according to the ISO / IEC 27001 Information Security Standard.
