An event on the occasion of the International Open Data Day
On International Open Data Day, Slovenia witnessed an extraordinary event organized by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which brought together key players in the field of open data. At the first meeting, approximately 70 editors of the national portal OPSI learned about the activities in opening data and the work plan for the coming year 2024. The focus was on the review of achievements, as well as planned measures for even better support and development of open data in Slovenia.
The second meeting was aimed at the broader ecosystem of open data in Slovenia, where approximately 80 participants gathered. In addition to a general overview of the situation and future plans, the central part was dedicated to the presentation of examples of good practices in data reuse. Participants were able to gain valuable insights and ideas for their own projects.

Special attention was attracted by the presentation of the new European project CEDAR, which was carried out by dr. Jolanda Modic from the Institute for Corporate Security Studies. Over the next three years, the project will explore the possibilities of using various data sources, data spaces and artificial intelligence technologies for a more transparent management of public finances throughout Europe. This project opens up new perspectives for progress in the field of public funds management, which will undoubtedly benefit both public institutions and citizens.
