Dr. Denis Čaleta, at the request of Delo newspaper editorial in the section "Gostujoče pero", wrote an assessment of the recently adopted provisions of the Defence Act, which gives the Slovenian Armed Forces additional powers to assist in the protection of the state border.

In the article "(No) system steps to national security" he critically assess the methods and rush of politics to solve certain problems being encountered in dynamic security environment and which is currently, through migrant crisis also exposed the Republic of Slovenia. In the absence of a proper analysis of the situation and systemic steps towards the implementation of national security policy, we are witnessing a spontaneous action, which in certain parts of the national-security system further complicate and restrict the effective functioning of this system.
