European Money Week took place across Europe from 16 to 20 March 2026
In 2025, losses due to online fraud in Slovenia increased by as much as 33%, with the upward trend continuing in 2026. This worrying figure highlights the importance of raising awareness and educating the public about the safe use of digital financial services.
Between 16 and 20 March 2026, European Money Week, an initiative of the European Banking Federation and national banking associations aimed at strengthening financial literacy, took place across Europe. During this period, numerous activities are carried out to help individuals better understand financial decisions and risks.
In Slovenia, the Association of Banks of Slovenia is also actively involved in a wide range of activities. This year, special emphasis is placed on raising awareness about online fraud. The Institute for Corporate Security Studies (ICS), SI-CERT and the Slovenian Police participated in the preparation of the program, which together contribute expertise and practical advice to protect users.
All efforts to prevent fraud are of crucial importance. Only with greater awareness and caution can we effectively reduce risks and protect individuals and society from financial losses.
