On February 21 and 22, 2024, ISCPSI hosted the final event of the APPRAISE project in Lisbon, Portugal, entitled: "Securing the Unfortified: Navigating the future of counter-terrorism with the focus on soft target resilience". With over 150 participants and many more watching live, the event marked the successful culmination of two and a half years of intensive work by the APPRAISE consortium. The event was also attended by a representative of the Institute for Corporative Security Studies, MSc. Miran Vršec.

On the first day of the event, representatives of the APPRAISE consortium informed those present about the goals and results of the project, all four pilot projects and technologies developed within the APPRAISE project. Representatives of all four APPRAISE pilot projects shared their experiences in testing APPRAISE solutions and discussed good practices and experiences developed within the project.

The second day of the event featured three panels. The working title of the first panel was: "Together we are better: Successful synergies between organizations, countries and sectors to improve the cyber and physical resilience of public spaces against terrorist threats". The second panel addressed the nexus between surveillance, privacy and freedom in the context of public spaces to understand the impact and level of acceptance that technologies used to protect public spaces could have on citizens. On the third panel, there was a discussion about the role of training in the protection of public spaces.
